Event with District 4 CAB: Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum

District 4 Community Advisory Board (CAB) is inviting members and their guests to enjoy a free visit to the Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum. Lunch will also be included!

Founded in 1902 by Dr. Charlotte Hawkins Brown, Palmer Memorial Institute transformed the lives of nearly 2,000 African American students. Today, the campus provides the setting where visitors can explore the place where boys and girls lived and learned during the greater part of the 20th century. The museum links Dr. Brown and Palmer Memorial Institute to the larger themes of African American history, women’s history, social history, and education, emphasizing the contributions African Americans made in North Carolina.

Date: Thursday, May 8, 2025

Time: 10:30 a.m.1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided at noon.

Place: Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum | 6136 Burlington Road | Gibsonville, NC 27249 

Who can participate:  RGEA members (Each member can invite a guest.)

Additional details: There are a limited number of picnic tables, so please bring lawn chairs if you have them to help with seating. There is a gift shop, visitor’s center, and ample parking. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for walking!
