Reasons to Get Involved with an RGEA CAB

Here’s a nice way to stay social this winter: Participate in a Community Advisory Board (CAB). RGEA has nine geographical “districts” across North Carolina for regional programming and events. Each district has its own advisory board, or “CAB,” to help plan events and discuss ideas and concerns of retirees. You’re invited to be part of your local CAB:

  1. Become active and engaged!
  2. Meet new people and have some fun.
  3. Meet your district’s board members and interact with them.
  4. Help plan in-person activities for your district.
  5. Be the first to receive information about what is happening at RGEA, along with legislative reports from our Director of Government Relations.
  6. Meetings occur once every 3 months for 1 hour via Zoom.
Support your district by helping RGEA better understand your needs and interests.
  7. Learn how to become a legislative advocate if you desire.
  8. Have an opportunity to become an RGEA board member as openings occur.
  9. Participate in engaging conversation about important issues and help to strategize how to approach or solve these concerns.
  10. Share your ideas for webinars, for recruitment for both the CAB and RGEA, and for developing local informal lunches to really get to know others.
